Home Made Face Masks for Dry Skin - As Natural As Possible!

I have pretty dry skin type. I have been trying to search for and tested quite a number of moisturizers and facial masks, hoping to discover a good and also affordable skin care product that can moisturize my face well but at the same time not too oily that would cause me breakouts.

I like natural ingredients. I have managed to search for some home made face masks tips for dry skin type from the beauty experts at the www. I have not tried them out yet, but would like to share this with my friends out there. As they are so natural, I'm pretty sure they will not have side effects unless one is particularly sensitive to any of these ingredients even without going through chemical process.

There are 4 types of facial masks which I find not so difficult to get from stores and with instructions to follow through:-

1. Nourishing Face Mask
(i)Ripe avocado - 2 ounces
(ii)Orange juice - 1 ounce
(iii) Honey - 1 teaspoon
(iv) Molasses - 1 teaspoon
(v) Chamomile essential oil - 5 drops
Blend all the listed ingredients in a bowl. Spread over face and neck and leave on for at least 30 minutes until it's almost dry. Use warm water to rinse off the mask with a rough cloth to exfoliate while removing. This mask can be kept for a few days if refrigerated.

2. Butter Face Mask
(i) Unsalted butter (softened) - 1 tablespoon
(ii) Egg yolk - 1
Beat both the above ingredients together and apply to face, leave on for 10 minutes and then wash face with lukewarm water. Pat face dry with a soft towel.

3. Honey and Oatmeal Face Mask
(i) Olive oil - 1 teaspoon
(ii) Egg yolk - 1
(iii) Honey - 1 teaspoon
(iv) Instant oatmeal - enough to make a paste
Mix all above ingredients together with enough instant oatmeal. Smooth this blend on face and neck evenly. Leave on the face for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water. Pat dry with a soft towel.

4. Avocado & Cucumber Face Mask
(i) Cucumber(peeled and chopped) - 1 cup
(ii) Avocado - 1 cup
(iii) Finely powdered oats = 3 tablespoon
(iv) Water - 3 tablespoons
(v) Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
(vi) Honey - 1 teaspoon
(v) Clay - 8-9 tablespoons (from any health food stores)
(vi) Citrus/floral essential oils - 2-3 drops
Mix cucumber, avocado, water and lemon juice until smooth. Then add rest of ingredients (except v & vi) and blend slightly. Pour this into a bowl and whisk in the clay (v) and the essential oils (vi). Apply to clean dry face and neck. Leave on for about 30 minutes. Rinse off afterwards with lukewarm water and then pat dry with a soft towel. Apply toner and good moisturizer after that. It can be kept in refrigerator for up to a week.

Doesn't sound hard right? But I think to collect/buy the ingredients and to successfully do up the masks will need some patience here. Hope I'll have the patience to try these out someday and share my experience with my friends.... Cheers
