Get dress up fast and still look fashionable?

How long do you spend on choosing, trying up different matches, and finally satistied with your clothes matched every morning before you leave you home or the night before you go to sleep? This might be an issue hitting some of us who hope to get to dress up fast at any point of time and yet still appear to be fashionable and pretty anytime anywhere.

Good news and thanks to the web again! I've managed to find myself some useful tips in express dressing. These are simple tips, but worth some moments of reading and sharing...

1. Choose clothes that mix and match easily
Whenever you decide to buy a blouse, skirt or pants, try to visualize your wardrobe to make sure that it matches and work well at least 2 or 3 other pieces in your closet. Apparently if you have a too outperform top that is not easy to be matched, the chances you will wear it is greatly reduced. And even if you have the chance to wear it but did not do a good matching job, you would look weird, and feel awkward.

2. Stick with some primary colours
Choose 3 or 4 primary colours for clothings in your wardrobe, this will ease the mix and match process. Red, blue, green, black, brown, etc., are a lot easier to mix and match than buttercup yellow and tangerine orange. Sound a bit restricted right? But they will actually expand your wardrobe considerably, and also the potential to show your creativity coming out with different styles and feel from mix and match more pieces.

3. Go for classic styles pieces
Simple theory, basic clothing styles wear longer and mix easier than trendy, "of-the-moment" fashions. To make a difference, add some accessories to enhance you look.

4. Choose clothes with easy maintenance
Buy clothes that you can and will maintain. If it's "dry clean only" or requires a lot of ironing, it will probably spend more time hanging in your closet that be worn on your back. This definitely against the concept of express clothing.

5. Go for quality clothing
Choose clothes at the best quality that you can afford, which will last longer, unless if you plan to wear the piece for only few times and throw or give it away.

In nutshell, to achieve express clothing, you don't need a lot of money or even lots of clothes, but a nice selection of well-chosen pieces and a little time and patience to discover great combinations that you can put to work in your closet. Cheers Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Can Cellnique tackle blackheads and whiteheads?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I used to have serious blackheads and whiteheads problem in few years back. I went for facials at different places, and tried many skin care brands i.e. SKII, Kose, Nuskin.... Who knows, the more stuff I tried out of deperations, the worse my skin conditions became.

During the time, there was a new beauty salon opened in the Times Square shopping Mall at KL, and there was a first trial promotion at RM49.90 on facial treatment worth RM198 at normal price...Mmmm........I've forgotten what that treatment was called.

After the trial session, as usual, the beauty consultant tried to 'demonstrate' her best selling skill, pushing me to sign up their facial course. Out of desperation, as I have mentioned, I have taken up an intensive course worth RM688 which consist of 3-times treatments which according to the consultant I have to attend the 3-times treatments for 3 days consecutively. Also, they have given me a set of a set of new products as my free gifts in signing up the course i.e Seeweed cleansing Gel, Soothing & hydrating Lotion (mist) and most importantly, the Skin Action Sebum Gel, which is the most crucial tool to tackle my blackheads and whiteheads problem. Amazingly, my skin started to recover after the 3-times treatment! I could see and feel the difference so much. Since then, I have been relying on this product.

In fact, I have tried to switch to other brands before as I told myself that I should not fully rely on solely 1 brand. But others products seem not as good, especially on tackling blackheads and whiteheads problems.

Range of Cellnique products that I'm currently using for my daily basic skin care regime :-
1. Seeweed Cleaning Gel - RM89
2. Soothing & Hydrating Lotion (mist) - RM79
3. Skin Action Sebum Gel - RM139
4. Advance Bio-Renewal Masque (scrub) - RM159
(check out http://www.cellnique.com for more...)

As for facial package, for budget control, I would normally sign up the premium package (if i still remember the name correctly), at RM1,500, once a year and plan the utilisation for that particular year (there are a lot other treatment packages available for choices as well). How many times facial treatment would that be? I think it's about 13 to 15 times. This very much depends on the treatment done everytime I visit the beauty salon which the beauty consultant is supposed to provide advice based on my skin condition/problem at that point of time.

So now, before I manage to discover a better brand for my skin, think I'll stick to this for a while more.

Some info about blackheads and whiteheads which I managed to find from the web:-
Definitions

Blackheads, also known as open comedones, are follicles that have a wider than normal opening. They are filled with plugs of sebum and sloughed-off cells and have undergone a chemical reaction resulting in the oxidation of melanin. This gives the material in the follicle the typical black color.

Whiteheads, also known as closed comedones, are follicles that are filled with the same material, but have only a microscopic opening to the skin surface. Since the air cannot reach the follicle, the material is not oxidized, and remains white.

How do blackheads and whiteheads form?
Blackheads are the slightly different sibling of zits, and like zits, squeezing them can be addictive. Composed of the same oil, or sebum, that contributes to the production of pimples, blackheads result from a building up of this oil in pores – the difference in appearance is the result of the blackhead’s exposure to the air, the reaction of which with the oil causes the trademark black color of these blemishes.

Simple tips for removing blackheads

Attacking the source of the problem!
A good cleansing routine is one of the best ways to remove blackheads, as it will help wash away excess oil and dead skin particles.

A gentle cleanser is a good choice as it won’t dry out the skin excessively (which results in the production of even more of that nasty sebum!).

Combined with the use of a gentle exfoliant, which will help remove old skin cells, this is all you need to help keep your skin blackhead free.

How to get rid of blackheads that are more stubborn?
Aggressive manipulation of the skin is never good, and so tips for removing blackheads include above all else a gentle touch. Before attempting to squeeze a blackhead, open up your pores by steaming your face, and then use a blackhead remover or some clean tissue to remove the blockage. Remember – the best way to remove blackheads is to be gentle! An overly heavy hand will only force the blockage deeper into the skin, causing dreaded zits!

Useful make-up tips

Honestly, I do not know much about theories in make up. However, I do agree that girls, including myself of course, should at least equip ourselves with some basic knowledge or simple tips about make ups.

Like myself, a lot of girls are "not really interested" with make up. Actually instead of saying not interested, "lazy" would suit more...heh.. A classic example, "Instead of spending half an hours or more to put on make ups on my face every morning before go to work, I would rather get more rest and wake up half an hour later". Or, "I go to work with my wisdom and qualification, not to look pretty ok!", and.....bla..blaa..bla... Sound familiar? hehehehhh...

On the other hand, I need to remind all my sisters here, look at guys around you, including your hubby or boy friend, what types of girls would normally attract your man's attention? I'm pretty sure that out of 10, 9 would be attracted to girls with make ups regardless of their age, unless if one is born with almost perfect and flawless complexion, which is how many percent would that be? 1 out of 10? out of 20? out of 50? I'm not saying that a guy will think that "Mmm, I like this girl, cause she's wearing make ups. Oohhh... this girl is ugly cause she's showing her bare face." What's in their mind is "this girl looks so radiant!", or "she is hot!", or "she has pretty and soft complexion". I'm pretty sure that when a girl receive her first complement on her outlook, 9 out of 10 were wearing make ups at the point of time (even one might be wearing very very very light blusher, or lip gloss, or eye shadow on).

In sum, it's undeniable that girls with make ups on do appear to be more presentable and confident in the eyes of people around them than those who don't.

Here are some useful makeup tips which I managed to gather from the following interesting sites http://www.makeup-care.info/ , http://modelingandmore.com/makeup-secrets.htm

Makeup should be used to help you beautiful, stylish, and most of all, feel good about yourself! Makeup is a very powerful weapon it can be. Carried out by a professional stylist, a makeup session can literally have a visual effect of a plastic surgery. What you should do is to find your basic makeup essentials to create a radiant looking complexion, and then experiment with different colors, textures and cosmetics items to derive the results that would boost enhancement to your facial features.

Here are some of the simplest and most effective tips to always stay irresistible

Love your face
Spare 15 minutes daily to take care of your - Always remove daily makeup thoroughly before going to bed, remember to use eye cream and facial creams/moisturizers/serums that suit your skin type and your age (it requires some experimenting). Occasionally give your skin a boost with masks that suit your needs (recommended twice a week), or go and get a facial treatment in your beauty salon if you can afford it (always get sufficient skin care tips from your beautician).

Always start with a clean and prepared face
Putting makeup on skin that already has yesterday's make up on will only clog up your pores, which eventually cause acne. Besides, the newly applied makeup will cake and blotch and may look strange and unflattering on last night's leftovers. So, please, don't carry your face over from day to day. Tips - whenever you remove makeup or apply creams/masks, follow the so called ‘massage lines’. It will prevent your skin from developing premature wrinkles under the stress of every day makeover.

Trim your brows
Keeping your brows shaped and trimmed will make a great great great difference. When a cosmetologist works at a girl's brows for the first time by choosing the right shape and trimming them correctly, it often changes a face drastically.

Choosing the right foundation
One of the biggest secrets of perfection is foundation. Normally, it takes a while to find the one that is best for your skin type and lasts through the day. A foundation shade should be as close to your skin tone as possible. Once you have found the right one, choose your concealer. Tips -It always needs to be 1 or 2 shades lighter than your base foundation for the perfect effect. For your information, the same makeup could look completely different in a day light and in different kinds of electric lighting. For that reason daily makeup is usually very mild, and evening makeup needs to be adjusted to the lighting of the event/premise and is generally brighter. Camera makeup is the most intensive.

Invisible makeup?
It is important to keep in mind that first of all, the purpose of a makeup is to hide little imperfections on your face, correct them and underline natural pluses of a girl’s face. A perfect makeup should be almost invisible and very flattering to your skin type, appearance and age. Easy to say! How exactly do we hide minuses and stress pluses? Tips -
apply darker shades to everything that needs to be visually hidden or narrowed down and lighter shades to stress or visually enlarge certain areas. Rememrber, use only colours that flatter your skin and age and colors that go with each other.

Perfect your lips
If you have the perfect mouth, lucky you, just brush the lipstick (either with a lipstick brush if you are using a tubelipstick, or with a wand) on your lips. If your lip colour is uneven, then you will need a special lip base or balancer - use a lighter tone on the dark areas and a dark tone on light areas. These balancers also fonn abase for lipstick and help to keep the colour of the lipstick pure and clear.

Lipstick provides the final touch to your make-up; without it no look is complete. For a perfect result, you will need a steady hand, some practice, the correct implements and a knowledge of the correcting techniques. Tips - If you want your upper lip to look more protruding, do this with your highlighter: Notice the cleft, or indentation, between your nose andupper lip. Put a lighter foundation or a highlighter there-it reflects light and makes the upper lip look as if it is protruding.

Suggestion!
The last one: do not hesitate and visit a professional makeup artist at least once or twice! It will be a worthy investment. In one session you might learn more about your face, colors, and options than you had learnt in years of using makeup. This is a very fast growing and changing industry. A specialist can tell you about the latest developments and secrets and even draw a ‘makeup’ map that shows in details what colors are best for you and how you need to apply eye-shadow, blush, foundation, lipstick, pencils, etc. to reach the best look.

If you have skin, you need strivectin

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This round, I would like to share with you on one of my best friends' pleasant experience with strivectin.

Few months ago, myself and my best have got to know about this brand from a male colleague. According to this colleague, one of his girl friends working in one of the famous beauty companies in KL, told him that there is this new skin care product Strivectin (cream for aging) from USA has penetrated the Malaysian market recently. What is so special about this product? A strong and bold tag line - BETTER THAN BOTOX? Not bad huh...

You know, girls, whenever hear about these sorts of miracles words, they will become crazy!! However, we also heard that this product is a bit pricy..sigh.. So in order for our money worth the price, we did our reserach and home work...hehe...research from internet (check out http://www.kleinbecker.com/), and referred to sales promoters at departmental stores (not only promoter from 1 particular departmental store, but many, to check out about this product.

Finally finally, my best friend has started with its eye cream. Based on the product description, user is supposed to see its effectiveness after 28 days usage, with twice applications per day. After 1 month plus usage, there was one day when this friend of mine went shopping at Mid Valley. She casually stopped by at a Biotherm road show counter, where one of the sales girl offered to do a free facial wrinkle test for her using their electronic devices.

Guess what happened?? The test result showed that her eye area is almost wrinkle free! The sales girl gently pulled her aside and said, "Ms, can you tell me what eye crean are you using? But pls don't let anyone know that I've asked this". Funny, this is the first time I've heard about a skin care consultant who is asking for advice from customer and not the other way round...heheh....Guess I don't have to validate and elaborate more on how effective this product is.

I have just started using this product recently. My best friendst satrted off with eye cream, I started with the face cream. If this friend of mine have the opportunity to read this article, you know who you are....heheh.....Cheers

Skin start to age? No no...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Sigh..... aging skin, an issue which strucked my mind recently, and I believe this is definitely an issue which is a concern of almost all girls and women out there. I have read a fashion magazine recently (you know, reading and flipping through fashion magazines is one of my routine interests), and gone through an article mentioning that nowadays even the young age hollywood stars (age 20 - 23) are taking botox injection to stay young and look youthful. I think it's a bit over, but, but, I do agree that girls, especially those at age 25 and above, should start taking more care of their skin conditions especially in terms of aging.

Talking about staying young, I immediately thought of my mum, who is coming to 56 Dec this year, and yet, still look like 40's. When I compared my mum with her friends at her age, I have to admit that she does look admirable. Some more, some of her friends even said "looking at you, I don't believe if you say that you are not using any anti-anging products". Therefore when this aging concern strucked my mind, I called my mum for advice. Her advice was - start taking collagen.

Collagen, I've heard of it many times, and aware that it contained in a lot of skin care products for both internal/external use. However, I'm not really sure what is it and how will it benefit our skin. So, where is the best place to get to know more? Of course, the internet. After browsing through the web, I've managed to locate some useful info about collagen.

This is what I've found - "Collagen is the natural protein which holds our bodies together. It's an crucial element in maintaining our skin strength and elasticity. From the age of 25, collagen levels start to deplete at a rate of 1.5% every year, and by the age of 40 our bodies stop manufacturing collagen altogether. In other words, over time as this collagen breaks down, this would cause skin to lose its suppleness and begin to wrinkle and sag". Wow.....does this sound scary to you? It surely does to me.

I believe that it is with this theory, a lot of skin care companies and suppliers have taken a step further to perform R&D on this area. Generally, the logic applied is "Re-introducing the correct form of pure collagen back in to your system will stimulate your natural collagen production. And the benefits are simple - skin become smoother, more supple and less wrinkled. There are also other benefits which include preserve and build and replenish lean muscle mass and encourage the body to shed fat, and improve mobility with a lessening of pain associated with arthritis and other joint pains".

Long explanation, but the key words to me here is smoother, supple and less wrinkled skin. In fact, I've just started consuming collagen last 2 weeks. While being skeptical, I think we should sometimes believe in the heavy and vast investments and effort that even the world most famous skin care companies are putting in their research, production and validation of results. And of course, I do hope that I have made the right choice here. This is the first anti-ageing action plan that I've just started in my life. And just to share with you. For guys, can share this with your beloveds as well Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
